Women Entrepreneurs, Growing and GlowingMarch 8th is International Women’s Day and many events are held globally on this day to showcase and celebrate the achievements of women. In Barrie, the Greater Barrie Business Enterprise Centre (GBBEC) will be hosting an event that not only celebrates women who have been successful, but helps all women, especially those who are focused on being successful in business, tap into the resources within the community and within themselves to grow and “glow” into that success. Women entrepreneurs are invited to join the GBBEC at the Mady Centre for the Performing Arts, 1 Dunlop St., Barrie from 1 pm to 6:30 pm for an amazing experience and an opportunity to be inspired, educated and informed; to discover the secret to successful leadership and how to unlock it within themselves. The Women Entrepreneurs, Growing and Glowing event includes keynote speaker, Kelly Patterson-McGrath, viewing of a recently released philanthropic film – the GLOW Project, introduction to a growing network of women’s business support groups in our area, followed by discussions, information sharing, finger foods, and refreshments. A cash bar will also be available. Women are encouraged to put themselves first, and make a date with us to uncover the glow within. GBBEC manager and business consultant, Terri Plaxton Smith, says “This is a wonderful opportunity for women in business to learn from other successful women in business, in a unique venue, and in a way that women can especially relate to.” The Glow Project is a thought-provoking, discussion-starting film that suggests that the secret to success is something all of us already own.Two years ago, the film’s producers set out to interview some of the most successful women in business, posing one simple question: “How is it that some women are wildly successful, while others – with the same relative education, experience, passion and goals – struggle?” None of the women knew what the others would say, but all ended up giving the same answer: GLOW. It’s an aura… an energy… the “It” factor. When realized, nurtured and expanded, your GLOW becomes the key to true happiness and success. The Women Entrepreneurs, Growing and Glowing event is made possible by funding provided by the Ministry of Economic Development & Innovation (MEDI). Although the event is offered without a fee, a $10 donation to the Women and Children’s Shelter of Barrie is requested at the door. Seats are limited, so pre-registration is a must. Interested women entrepreneurs can register online at barriebusinesscentre.ca - 30 - Additional Information To Register, click here: Event Information and Registration For information on the GLOW Project, visit www.glowproject.org |
