The Big Picture

What is the "big picture" for your business? Can you describe it in one or two sentences? As the Leader of your company, it is essential that you have a well thought out direction and plan for your business.

It is imperative that you know where you are going and track the results regularly. Every business owner knows this but few take the time to work on their business. It is so easy to get wrapped up in the daily drive and operations of our business that we never seem to get around to planning and implementing the big picture.

As the year winds down it is the perfect time to reassess and start "thinking big" for 2012. What can you do differently next year?

1. Schedule big picture time in your calendar at a set time every week.
2. Post reminders in your office, pictures, affirmations, charts, etc.
3. Set aside a big picture planning day every quarter to reset your action plan.
4. Work with a professional and share the expectations with your team to keep yourself accountable.
5. Make it a priority, what is truly important usually gets done.
