About the Greater Barrie Business Enterprise Centre

The Greater Barrie Business Enterprise Centre (GBBEC) was formed in February 2002 through an initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development & Trade and the City of Barrie.

The Greater Barrie Business Enterprise Centre is part of a network of 46 Small Business Enterprise Centres operating in 56 locations throughout the Province of Ontario.

Our Mandate:

To provide assistance and support to small businesses in both their start-up and early growth stages.

Our Commitment:

The Greater Barrie Business Enterprise Centre is committed to assisting aspiring entrepreneurs of all ages realize their dreams of becoming their own bosses.

Our Goals:

  • To give help to new business start-ups

  • To provide assistance to existing businesses operating for less than 5 years

  • To enhance business support programs for youth through programs such as: Future Entrepreneurs, Business Plan Challenge (for high school students), and Summer Company
